PLEASE READ THIS PAGE ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM BEFORE ORDERING. ESPECIALLY THE PART ABOUT NOT SENDING ANY OTHER FORM OF PAYMENT BESIDES A UNITED STATES POSTAL MONEY ORDER **ONLY**!! ALL CHECKS AND OTHER TYPES OF MONEY ORDERS WILL BE RETURNED AND A $2.50 CHARGE WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR TOTAL.
NEW POLICY AS OF AUGUST 1, 2007: If you are not already on my Yahoo group list, and you want to place an order, I am now asking that you join this group.
This group is where I post updates such as progress reports as to which month of commissions I'm now working on, policy changes, when books are open for a new month, etc. It saves me an enormous amount of time if I don't have to answer several emails from customers asking "how their model is coming along". You can check this group to find out where I am in my schedule instead of having to email me. Therefore on all new orders I will ask that you join the group when you submit your order form and send your "slot hold" deposit. Thank you for your cooperation.

**TO ORDER - PAYMENT SCHEDULE: A $100 deposit is required to hold/book your slot. One month later a second payment of $100 is due. Another month later a third payment of $100 will be due. The balance paid when model is finished, or all most finished.
(I do my own prepping.)
Shipping will be figured at time of completion of model, when it is packed and weighed.
Policies in
Brief:
All models are guaranteed to be live show quality, and guaranteed to your
satisfaction.
Even though my work is guaranteed, I cannot guarantee a color unless I have been provided with a
hard copy photo. If you have not given me a photo and just request a "chestnut", or a "light dapple grey", for example, and then you do not like the
shade when finished, there will be a charge to modify the color - if possible. Remember, I cannot read your mind. Airbrushing on top of an already
finished model causes the finish not to be as durable, meaning the finish will scratch easily. So keep this in mind. I may or may not modify an
unguaranteed model, depending on the particulars.
An order form
MUST be included with your deposit and model.
Time payments are
accepted, however due to being let down in the past I find it necessary to now ask for 1/2 down to begin the model, and the balance in 8 weeks.
This will apply to new customers and those with a questionable payment history.
If you are a long term customer with a good record I will make acceptance to you.
Balance
due is expected upon completion of your model, unless other arrangements have
been made.
If
payment is not made within two weeks of notification that model is finished, the
model will be sold. For 30 days after notification, original deposit can
be applied to another model, however, full payment will be required in advance
before another model will be started. After 30 days deposit is forfeited.
You may custom order a model to your own
specifications, or choose a model similar to one of those featured on this web
site. Prices for an adult, traditional size model begin at $225. I do NOT do stablemate size models. Select classic size models will be considered but will be the same price as a traditional.
Pinto
and Appaloosa patterns cost more than the solid colors and price depends on the extent
of the pattern.
Some selected trades/partial
trades are accepted, usually only unfinished traditional resins.
Turn around time is
approximately 3 to 4 months.
If you need your model in less than 12 weeks from the time I receive him, then
a $80 rush fee applies.
Please,
keep your description of the model you are ordering to a minimum.
If you want me to match a color or markings, you MUST provide an "original"
photograph of the horse. I will not guarantee a color unless I have been provided an
original photograph. Emailed photos are NOT true to color!
Finished Photos: For those who want a photo emailed before it is posted on the "What's New" page, there will now be a $5.00 fee per photo. Most customers, after they have received the model, exclaim, "it's so much better in person!" This is the first reason I prefer not to email a photo before the customer has the model in hand. The second is that it takes more time to size, edit, upload and email individual photos, rather than doing them in batches when I'm ready to post on What's New. However if you still what a photo emailed, the $5.00 fee will apply. Please put this on your order form so that I know ahead of time that you want this. Thanks.
Payments accepted:
-
United States POSTAL
money orders ONLY
are accepted for deposit or balance due.
-
All other types of money
orders or checks WILL BE RETURNED.
-
Paypal is accepted & prefered;. I prefer the NON credit card type unless I know you.
-
Payments other than United States Postal money order please add a processing fee of
4% to the total.
-
Refunds: I am unable to give cash refunds. If, for whatever reason, you are not able to continue with a commission, and I have not yet started the model, the deposit you paid will be credited to you for a future model. The credit will be good for 3 months. If you cannot commission a future model, it is suggested that you sell your slot/credit to another. I do not have the cash flow to make cash refunds. If questions, please ask in advance.
Further
explanation of policies:
Turn
around time is
approximately 3 to 4 months. I do not work on just one horse at a time
until he's finished and then start another. I work on many horses at once. They
start with the dremel stage, then prepping (this is the longest stage, so if you
have a very rough model it may take longer to finish than someone who has a
model that needs only minimal prepping). Then they enter the ready to paint
stage, then they get base coats, then airbrush, then hand details, then hair.
Sometimes they may sit in the ready to paint stage (for example) while several
are airbrushed. So several days may go by between each stage before they are
worked on again.
I strive for quality in my work. I
ask that you not email me and ask how your horse is coming until after 12 weeks
have passed since I received it, and only if you have paid a deposit. I always
email you when the horse has been airbrushed and I am doing the hand details, to
give you a heads up that the balance will soon be due. If you write me and say
"I'm not rushing you, but just wonder how my horse is coming", that
automatically puts me in "rush mode", because if you weren't in a
hurry then you wouldn't be asking. If you need your model by a deadline, you
need to tell me that when you place the order.
If you need your model in less than
12 weeks from the time I receive him, then you must pay the $80 rush fee. It is
not fair to others to put your horse ahead of them unless you have to pay for
it. I have one of the best turnaround times in the business so do not worry that
you won't get your horse for a year. 3 to 4 months is my normal turn
around time. Sometimes it's less, depending on my work load, sometimes it's more
if I have something happen to put me behind (such as moving or being sick). So it will be
greatly appreciated if you don't ask about your model until after 12 weeks. You
will most always hear from me before then. Rushing me, putting me under a
deadline only possibly reduces the quality of my work. Thank you for your
cooperation in this matter.
Please,
please keep your description of the model you are ordering to a minimum. Long, drawn out, paragraph after paragraph descriptions only tend to confuse. Simple is better. A photo of what you are looking for is excellent. But then please don't send a photo and they say, "change this, change that", it is no longer that photo anymore when you do that. Just simple, color, markings, dapples or not, mohair color, will give you a much better paint job. In other words, leave room for the artist to work. (Of course a "portrait" model is an exception to this rule, but lots of good quality photos are required here). Thanks so much!
:-)
When
ordering a model 'similar' to one on this web site or elsewhere, keep in
mind that your model is a 'work of art'. It is created by a human,
not a computer, machine or out of a mold. That means it will not
be exact! Even if I wanted to, I could not make a model exactly
like another, it will be 'similar'.
